EUROGATE container terminal is located in the western part of the Port in Hamburg in Waltershof. It handles ocean-going and inland waterway vessels. It was extened along the Elbe river bank in the direction of Bubendey in 2019 which has allowed to increase its capacity from the 4.2 million TEU to 6 million TEU per year.
Germany’s largest intermodal rail station is operated on the site by EUROKOMBI. There are 11 block-train tracks and 8 rail mounted crane-bridges available for loading and discharging container trains to tens of locations in Europe.
