BREXIT transition period is about to end, you need to make sure that your goods keep moving between the EU and the UK. As an UK importer (a business registered for EORI GB and VAT UK) you should provide the following information for the UK import customs declarations to your customs agency:
A completed Letter of Authorisation to act on your behalf and to submit shipment data to the UK HMRC customs system for a 12-month period. Without this 12-month authorisation, the customs agency must obtain authorisation for each individual shipment, which might lead to possible delays.
The following information to your European shipper in advance: :: Complete import customs data set (e.g. HS code, country of origin, Incoterms, etc.) and all documentation (e.g. invoice, packing list, certificate of origin, etc.) associated with the shipment.
:: Your GB EORI number.
:: Your email address to validate the import customs data set (if required).
You can mitigate the risk of border disruption. Get ready and make sure to provide all the necessary information/paperwork correctly and on time before new set of customs rules are implemented on the EU / UK border at Jan. 1st, 2022.
